Former minister of Justice reveals a huge scandal of the politics and judiciary for the murder of a police officer

Former Minister of Justice Ylli Manjani has accused an Albanian court and the whole judiciary system of giving a life sentence to a teenager found guilty for the murder of a policeman without proving it scientifically.
The assassination took place during the anti-cannabis action of the Albanian State Police a few years back, in Lazarat.
Manjani writes the story was told to him by the mother of two teenagers, arrested and sentenced for the murder of the police officer, one of them sentenced to prison for life.
The former minister explains that he was interested in official channels and reveals that “officially the prosecution and the Court for Serious Crimes have not managed to prove that any one from the barrage of bullets shot by the young boys in Lazarat hit either the late officer or the police vehicle he was staying”.
“There was an expertise act for that, but the vehicle had no bullets holes! In no expertise act is proved that the bullet that took the officer’s life was shot by the boys that were mad at police”.
“The question of who killed the late officer remains without answer”, Manjani writes on his Facebook page.
“The system is criminalizing without any evidence young men that may be guilty for resistance to police or for any other charges, but not for the assassination of the police officer. I hope the Appellation Court will revise carefully this ugly staging by the police. Justice is made through proves and evidence, not through populist staging and palavers”.
